1935 Postage Stamp Earrings. These earrings use images from the 1935 pictorial postage stamps. This beautiful range of stamps features many iconic New Zealand images. Amongst them is this stunning image of Mt Taranaki, surrounded by an elaborate floral frame. I felt that the frame was such a beautiful part of this stamp that I have made two varieties of these earrings. One is a continual picture including the frame on each side and the other is the single image of Taranaki itself. The split is only available in the oval settings. Mount Egmont/Taranaki is an isolated volcanic mountain with a beautiful symmetric cone and reaches 2518 meters. Egmont was named in 1770 by explorer James cook as he sailed past but the Maori name Taranaki (Barren Mountain) was given equal and official status in 1986
These earrings are made with a reproduced image of an original stamp, printed on acid free paper and secured under glass. The earrings are presented on a secure card that details the image origin on the back should you want to send them as a gift.
Earrings come in a range of settings and are hypoallergenic. They are Copper, Lead, Nickel and Cadmium Free.
